Agromart lends the Sa Volta finca, located in Porreres, to the Association of Local Varieties of the Balearic Islands so that they can carry out an experimental project for the selection and promotion of the Borratxona cabbage.
On this field, about fifteen samples of different varieties of this cabbage have been planted: borratxó, borratxó petit, borratxona grossa, borratxó de set setmanes…
An essential boost for local varieties
These days, the Association of Local Varieties has invited several personalities from the world of agriculture and gastronomy on Mallorca to participate in the process and study of the cabbage.
At the Sa Volta finca, they have been able to observe the different evolutions of this unique vegetable, and they have also been able to taste it to assess the differences between the many varieties.

Now, the technicians will evaluate all the data obtained from the study and will present their conclusions, with the aim of keep studying, and promoting the borratxona cabbage.
